Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
At Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Villawood, we continue to strive to ‘Live Jesus’ Way’ (our school motto) and to live in community where we ‘Never see a need without doing something about it’ (St Mary MacKillop).
Our Mini Vinnies team is made up of students selected from Year 3 to Year 6 who stand in solidarity to protect the life and dignity of the poor and vulnerable within our family, school and communities and live out the Catholic social teachings to care for all of God’s creations.
Parents are involved in outreach opportunities organised by our family educator through the St Vincent de Paul society. Parents are an integral part in fundraising initiated by the school. Local businesses support our fundraisers by donating prizes to help raise funds to provide contemporary resources to enhance students’ learning.
